McNeil Design Group Interiors ‘Kitchen Modernization’ has completed a gorgeous new Open Concept Kitchen and Dining Room renovation created from an original 1980’s home of small segmented spaces. Collaborating with our wonderful Client to bring this dream renovation to reality was a great pleasure. The new space was modernized with a Transitional focus. Clean, airy, quality finishes, top notch stainless appliances, custom cabinetry in a painted grey and white, greyed hardwood throughout, sculptural pendant lighting and stunning Quartz countertops that mimic specialty stone without the fussy maintenance. The specified specialty downdraft ventilation made for a pristine oversized Island and created an open sight line. Photography courtesy of Nicole Aubrey Photography
McNeil Design Group Interiors ‘Custom Den and Cabinetry’
This project saw a tight dining room converted into a cozy, high functioning, customized working Den. The contrast of the surfaces was minimized by collaborating the wood tones of the flooring and cabinetry, while allowing the custom desk to play centre stay in it’s warm wood tone. The cabinetry was tailored to house the Clients collection of character pieces, books, office necessities (printer, media storage, filing drawers etc) and Sci-Fi collectables.
The furnishings were selected with the possibility of utilizing the space in a multifunctional. There are alternative space plans for the room where the desk slides to the window becoming a bar and two more chairs (in a tailored stripe) join to create a centre chair grouping of four for entertaining.
Lots of function in a moderately sized space.
McNeil Design Group Interiors ‘Eclectic Transitional Living Room’. This living space started with many challenges and desperately needed the soaring height tamed and brought into perspective with a usable configuration at ground level. The stunning stone hearth was designed and created to give focus, romantic warmth and visual interest. The rustic mantel beam houses the entertainment components and the over-sized gas fireplace insert is authentic and efficient. The warm and transitional palette of colours and textures gives an understated level of visual interest that adds favourably to this small configuration of furnishings. The soaring drapery panels, rod, finials and system were designed to accentuate the 16Ft window expanse, to balance the height of the stone hearth and to function effectively to control the light, heat/cold. A truly charming Living Room!
